Katie Zoglin, President


Katie Zoglin was born and raised in Santa Clara County. She has served as a lawyer for local governments in the Bay Area for 20 years. Katie has also worked to promote the rule of law and democracy in the Balkans, North Africa and the Middle East, and Latin America. She has served an international elections monitor and has also advised local election officials. Katie volunteers time as a community mediator in Mountain View, a Trustee for the World Affairs Council, and a Commissioner on the Santa Clara County Health Advisory Commission.

Ellen Wheeler, Vice President – Action


Ellen Wheeler has been a member of the League of Women Voters Los Altos-Mountain View Area since 2002. She’s served on this board in many capacities over the years – as Membership Director, 1st VP of Action (many years ago), and most recently as Social Policy Director. She returns to this board as 1st VP of Action for 2021/22. Ellen is the chairperson of LWV Santa Clara County’s Education Committee, and has also served as the education chairperson of LWVLAMV. Ellen is a past member of the board of the League of Women Voters of California and now serves in a state-wide capacity as a member of the Local League Coach team of advisors to local Leagues. Ellen retired in 2022 after 20 years on the MVWSD school board.

Jacquie Tanner, Vice President Program


Jacquie Tanner grew up in Mountain View California. Her child has been attending all the same schools that Jacquie attended. Her career has been in diverse and unique technology industries making her more cosmopolitan in her ideas. She is the Co-Chair of Los Altos High's PTSA's Sustainability Committee and she volunteers in both Mountain View and Los Altos community events. She is a graduate of Leadership of Mountain View, Class of 2023 (The best class ever).

William Lambert, Secretary


Bill Lambert is a Bay Area native and has lived in Mountain View for over 20 years. Bill was a research chemist with AT&T/Lucent Bell Laboratories and is now an intellectual property attorney. Since 2011 Bill has served the League of Women Voters Los Altos-Mountain View Area in various capacities. He served on the Board of the Day Worker Center of Mountain View for several years and as a Trustee of the Mountain View Whisman School District from 2012-2016. He is currently a Trustee of the Mountain View Whisman School District.

Joanna Shreve, Treasurer


As a voter, I have frequently relied on the League of Women Voters to find invaluable information about issues and candidates on my ballot.  The League’s mission, to provide unbiased, non-partisan information about election issues, has enabled me to practice a most important responsibility – to be an informed voter.  I feel privileged to serve the Los Altos Mountain View League of Women Voters as Treasurer.

Lisa McLain, Membership Chair


Lisa joined the League to help tend our democracy and has enjoyed registering new voters, working on election related events and community conversations. She has served on the board for the past five years and president from 2019-2021. A resident of Mountain View for over twenty years, Lisa is also on the Advisory Council of Leadership Mountain View, involved in her local neighborhood CERT and accompanies her dog to Furry Friends Pet Therapy visits to retirement and convalescent homes.

Karin Bricker, Voter Service


Karin retired from the City of Mountain View Library as Manager of Youth and Outreach Services. Back for a second term with Voter Service, Karin has also served as League President. She hopes to see many new voters registered and a lot of voter enthusiasm in 2024.

Abby Longcor, Social Policy Portfolio


Abby grew up in Mountain View and after college returned to the area to build and manage Beyond the Bell for the Mountain View Whisman School District. She later became a high school math teacher and now leads The Tech Challenge, an engineering design competition for 4th-12th grade students. In 2014 she received the Extraordinary Service Award from the League of Women Voters of California and in 2016 she was recognized as one of Silicon Valley Business Journal’s 40 Under 40. She is also an active member of the LWV Housing Committee and a fluent speaker of Spanish.

Gary Hedden, Natural Resources Portfolio


Gary Hedden moved to the Bay Area from Oregon in 1972. A pharmaceutical research chemist, he worked at Syntex, and then Roche for 37 years, retiring in 2009. Gary is Board President of the Los Altos History Museum, editor of the quarterly History Museum newsletter, Board President of GreenTown Los Altos, on the Leadership Team for the Los Altos Affordable Housing Alliance (LAAHA) and on the Citizens Advisory Committee on Finance (CACF) for the Los Altos School District. In his spare time he enjoys bike rides and leading bike tours.

Kevin Ma, Government Portfolio


Kevin comes from San Diego and moved to the Bay Area for work in tech. He is the co-Chair of the Housing Committee and serves on Mountain View's Rental Housing Committee.

Nathan Pier, Director at Large


Nathan Pier first got involved with the League of Women Voters of Los Altos-Mountain View in 2015, contributing to the study on "Public Higher Education in California” while he was an undergraduate student at UC Berkeley. Nathan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business in 2017, and later attained his MBA. Nathan has worked in Silicon Valley technology startups since graduating from Berkeley. He is currently the Director of Business Development for a semiconductor company, enabling universities and businesses to develop custom microchips with open-source tools.

Trity Pourbahrami, Director at Large


Trity Pourbahrami became an American Citizen in 2018 and moved to Mountain View with her two teens and husband just before the pandemic started. She has a passion for bringing people together to unwrap complex topics over a cup of Persian tea. She is a 2024 graduate of Leadership Mountain View and focused her team’s community project on engaging and educating new and newly eligible voters. She speaks multiple languages and enjoys opening up spaces, for people with diverse experiences, to participate and feel comfortable sharing their views.
