The five Leagues in our county (us, Cupertino-Sunnyvale, Palo Alto, San Jose/Santa Clara, and Southwest Santa Clara Valley) form a County Council to work together on countywide issues, such as multi-League candidate forums. County Council is headed by the Presidents of each League.
The LWV of the Bay Area is an Inter-League Organization (ILO) established to work on regional issues, such as air pollution (BAAD), transportation (MTC), and housing (ABAG).
The League of Women Voters of California educates and takes action on statewide issues, including bills and ballot measures.
The League of Women Voters of the United States, also known as National, takes action on national and international issues. They are also the ones who authorize individual Leagues to exist.
