Register for the Annual Meeting - June 10th

Join us for our Annual Meeting with speaker Judge LaDoris Hazzard Cordell who will talk to us about her 2021 book, “Her Honor: My Life on the Bench... What Works, What's Broken, and How to Change It.

You might be interested in reading Judge Cordell's recent op-ed in the San Francisco Chronicle about judge shopping. Bring your questions.

During the business part of the meeting membership will consider the proposed budget, vote for a board of directors, and approve priorities for 2023-2024. We encourage all members to attend.

* Registration Note: Please log into your member account before registering so that you are not charged a $2 non-member convenience fee. After you submit your registration, you will be taken to a second page where you can pay.

Nominating Committee Looking for Volunteers

We are looking for people to be on our League's board starting July 1. The open positions are Secretary, VP Program and Membership Chair.

We meet on the first Monday of the month from 7:00 to 9:00pm and board members are expected to attend. We meet mostly on Zoom but sometimes in person.

Secretary: The secretary takes the minutes of each board meeting and at the end of year Annual Meeting. The agenda, documents related to the meeting and the minutes are uploaded to our online document library. We can teach you how.

VP Program: This position oversees our two main events, Program Planning in February and the Annual Meeting in June. Both events require securing a venue and publicizing the event to members. The VP will prepare the agenda for the Program Planning. The agenda for the Annual Meeting is a preset format.

Membership: The Membership Chair welcomes new members when they join and arranges to meet them to find out their interests. The membership chair does some database work. Again, we can show you how.

If you would like to talk more about joining our board, let us know at nominating@lwvlamv.org
