| | | Nominating Committee Looking for Volunteers | The Nominating Committee is beginning its search for League members to serve on our board for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2024. If you would like to join our board or suggest someone else, please email our Nominating Committee Chair, Sally Ahnger at nominating@lwvlamv.org
To serve on the board, you must be a League member and available to attend monthly board meetings (currently some are in person and others on Zoom).
Most board members spend an average of 2-3 hours a week on League activities depending on their role.

Finding Fairness in a Polarized Country
Practicing Civil Discourse
Hone your civil discourse skills and add your ideas in this Participative Workshop Conversation around using the elements of Equity & Equality and whether they provide fair solutions to community issues. Topics to be discussed: Affordable Housing, no cash bail, mental health treatment for the unhoused, and universal Basic Income.

Enjoy an educational journey through the American South. Step into the history of the civil rights movement to see its impact on American society. This discussion will be presented by Grace Mah and facilitated by the League of Women Voters.
In this presentation, Mah will discuss the rich history of the civil rights movement and the lasting effects of the slave trade on our nation's history. With an immersive and interactive approach, this talk aims to provide a deeper understanding of the struggles and triumphs of the African American community in the pursuit of equality and justice. Advanced registration recommended but walk-ins are welcome.
