Climate Corner
There are many pieces required to solve the climate change challenge. Switching from fossil fuels is high on the list, hence the interest in heat-pump technology. But this is the time of year to think about saving water. Now is the ideal time to introduce drought-tolerant plants, saving water for years to come.
A local nonprofit, Grassroots Ecology, has a guide to help get you started. It offers a step-by-step roadmap and practical tips. Once you have a plan, you might even find the plants you like for sale at their nursery! You don't have to completely change your landscape design: start small. Pick a spot that could use a fresh look and give it a try.
Interested? Contact emily@grassrootsecology.org and tell her Gary Hedden sent you. She will send you a link to download the guide. Happy planting!
