| | | Nominating Committee Looking for Volunteers |
We are looking for people to be on our League's board starting July 1. The open positions are Secretary, VP Program and Membership Chair.
We meet on the first Monday of the month from 7:00 to 9:00pm and board members are expected to attend. We meet mostly on Zoom but sometimes in person.
Secretary: The secretary takes the minutes of each board meeting and at the end of year Annual Meeting. The agenda, documents related to the meeting and the minutes are uploaded to our online document library. We can teach you how.
VP Program: This position oversees our two main events, Program Planning in February and the Annual Meeting in June. Both events require securing a venue and publicizing the event to members. The VP will prepare the agenda for the Program Planning. The agenda for the Annual Meeting is a preset format.
Membership: The Membership Chair welcomes new members when they join and arranges to meet them to find out their interests. The membership chair does some database work. Again, we can show you how.
If you would like to talk more about joining our board, let us know at nominating@lwvlamv.org

US Abortion War 2023: A CA Perspective - LWV PA Event
In addition to the flurry of abortion bans enacted in 2022, the US witnessed the highest number of abortion protections ever passed. Fully one-quarter of these were enacted in California. What does it mean to be an abortion-friendly state in a country where almost half of the states have banned abortion or are likely to do so?

- REGISTER NOW
- For more information check the LWV Event Calendar.
Michelle Oberman, JD, U Santa Clara, is an international expert on the impact of abortion regulation in countries with widely divergent abortion laws. In this talk, she will share findings from her current research. How does and doesn’t California’s commitment to reproductive justice alter that landscape?
Rebuilding Water Resilience from the Bottom Up
California's water agencies are struggling to maintain cost-effective, reliable and affordable service as climate whiplash and other pressures disrupt both water availability and demand.
