Join us for an informative election discussion about:  Important election changes  Redistricting  Propositions 28 and 29 This event is sponsored by League of Women Voters of the Los Altos-Mountain View. The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization of women and men that encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy. The League may, after study, take positions on issues but it neither supports nor opposes individual candidates for public office.

Mr. Callender will speak about how the district has dealt with a shrinking budget. Cost of each session is $20 payable at the door or online. Please indicate your preference. Entree choices are: Chicken Penne Pasta; or Grilled Salmon. Salad is included. Reservations are required by Wednesday before. Space is limited. This is your chance to listen to and interact with candidates for State Senate Districts 13 & 15 and State Assembly Districts 24 & 28. This forum will focus on education and particularly on education funding at the state level. Sponsored by: APAPA (Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association), De Anza College Institute of Civic and Community Engagement, League of Women Voters Cupertino-Sunnyvale, League of Women Voters Los Altos-Mountain View, Parents for Great Education, Santa Clara County Office of Education, and Sunnyvale School District.
Thursday, May 24, 2012	7:00 pm - 9:00 pm	City of Mountain View City Hall Council Chambers 500 Castro Street Mountain View, CA 94041	CANDIDATES FORUM FOR THE JUDGES RACES. The League of Women Voters of the Los Altos-Mountain View Area is holding a Judges Candidates' Forum for Superior Court, Santa Clara County, Offices #5 and #7. There is only one Superior Court (or trial court) in each county, but many judges attached to it. Three candidates are running in Office #5 and two in Office #7. No incumbents are running in these races.
